When summer starts I usually read The Bell Jar. Its one of my seasonal books: I read The Secret History in winter and Franny and Zooey in the fall. I haven’t read any of them this year, but I wish it were officially summer so I could lie on my parents couch, drink lemonade, and wallow in someone else’s depression. There is something liberating about it.
